Choosing the right platform for your Learning Management System (LMS) is crucial, and WordPress shines as a powerful and flexible option. But before diving into building your dream learning platform, the very first step needs careful consideration: WordPress installation.

While the process itself may seem straightforward, entrusting it to a reliable WordPress service provider offers numerous benefits:

  • Technical Expertise: Save yourself the hassle of dealing with server configurations, database setup, and security updates. Let trained professionals handle the technical legwork, freeing you to focus on crafting engaging learning experiences.
  • Security & Peace of Mind: WordPress, despite its robustness, requires proactive security measures. Trustworthy providers implement firewalls, malware scanning, and regular backups, ensuring your LMS remains protected.
  • Performance & Scalability: As your LMS grows, your web hosting needs will evolve. Reliable providers offer scalable plans that adapt to your increasing resource requirements, ensuring smooth performance even with high learner traffic.
  • Support & Guidance: Should you encounter any technical hiccups, having access to dedicated support from experienced professionals is invaluable. Look for providers offering prompt and knowledgeable assistance to keep your LMS running smoothly.

So, how do you choose the right service provider?

Here are a few trusted names in the WordPress world that excel in LMS hosting:

  • WP Engine: Known for their managed WordPress hosting, WP Engine offers dedicated environments optimized for high-performance LMS websites. Their security measures and proactive maintenance are top-notch, making them a popular choice for educational institutions.

Ultimately, the best service provider for your LMS depends on your specific needs and budget. Consider factors like traffic volume, security requirements, budget constraints, and desired level of support when making your decision.

Remember, a quality WordPress installation sets the foundation for a successful LMS. By choosing a trusted provider, you can rest assured that your learning platform is in good hands, allowing you to focus on what truly matters: empowering your learners to thrive.

!IMPORTANT

Next: Install and Activate Lenxel Pro Plugin.

Click the button below to complete your setup and reveal the Lnx Theme Settings in your dashboard.

Activate Lenxel Pro Now

Once you have installed and activated the theme, navigate to the "Install Plugins" section. Here, you'll find the option to "Install Required Plugins." While some plugins are optional, they are essential if you intend to import the demo sample. Proceed by clicking the button to initiate the plugin installation process.

Install Lenxel Pro (Theme & Plugin)

Lenxel Pro runs as a WordPress theme + plugin pair. There are two common starting points: you may already have the Lenxel theme and the Lenxel Lite plugin running on your site, or you may be setting up Lenxel for the first time. Lenxel Lite is the plugin from the WordPress directory; to access Pro-only features and subscription upgrades, you must install and activate the Lenxel Pro plugin. Use the path below that matches your situation.

Before You Begin
  • Make sure WordPress is installed and you can log in to the WordPress admin dashboard.
  • If the Lenxel theme is not installed yet, you will be guided back to the Install Theme section in Path 2.
  • When you download Lenxel Pro from https://lenxel.ai/download, you receive a single .zip file (the “Lenxel Pro download”) that contains:
    • a copy of the Lenxel theme (same theme you can install from the WordPress theme browser), and
    • the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip you will upload in WordPress.
  • Important: Do not upload the main Lenxel Pro download .zip directly into WordPress. Always extract it first and upload only the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip (for example, lenxel-pro.zip).
Choose Your Path
Path 1: Lenxel theme and Lenxel Lite plugin already installed
  1. Confirm the Lenxel Theme Is Active
In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance > Themes and verify that the Lenxel-wp theme is installed and active. If it is not active, follow the steps in Install Theme and then return to this path.
  2. Download Lenxel Pro (Free Download)
Visit https://lenxel.ai/download and download the latest Lenxel Pro .zip file to your computer.
  3. Extract the Download on Your Computer
Locate the downloaded .zip file and extract it once. Inside you will see:
    • a folder containing the Lenxel theme, and
    • the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip (for example, lenxel-pro.zip).
You do not need to re-install the theme if Lenxel-wp is already active; you will only upload the Pro plugin .zip in the next step.
  4. Install the Lenxel Pro Plugin
    1. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New.
    2. Click Upload Plugin.
    3. Click Choose File and select the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip from the extracted download.
    4. Click Install Now.
    5. When installation completes, click Activate Plugin.
  5. Verify Required Plugins
After activation, go to Appearance > Install Plugins (or LNX Theme Settings > Install Plugins) and confirm that all required plugins are installed, active, and up to date. At a minimum, Lenxel relies on Tutor LMS, Lenxel Core/Pro, Meta Box, WooCommerce (for paid courses), and Elementor (for page building). If any of these show as “Not Installed” or “Inactive”, install or activate them from this screen and keep them updated to their latest stable versions.

Tip: If you accidentally try to upload the Lenxel theme from the Pro download and WordPress shows a “destination folder already exists” message, it simply means the theme is already installed. You can cancel that step and continue using your existing theme with the Lenxel Pro plugin you just activated.

Path 2: Installing Lenxel for the first time
  1. Install and Activate the Lenxel Theme
Follow the detailed steps in the Install Theme section to add and activate the Lenxel-wp theme from the WordPress theme browser/marketplace.
  2. Install Required Plugins
Once the theme is active, go through the Install Plugins section to install all required and recommended plugins from Appearance > Install Plugins.
  3. Download Lenxel Pro (Free Download)
Visit https://lenxel.ai/download and download the Lenxel Pro .zip file to your computer.
  4. Extract and Install the Lenxel Pro Plugin
    1. Extract the downloaded .zip file and locate the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip inside.
    2. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
    3. Choose the Lenxel Pro plugin .zip, click Install Now, then click Activate once installation finishes.
Next: Activate Lenxel Pro & AI with Your Portal Account

Regardless of which path you followed, the final step is to connect your site to the Lenxel Portal so that AI-based course generation can be unlocked.

  1. Create or log in to your account at https://portal.lenxel.ai, verify your email, and copy your Activation Key (Secret Token).
  2. In WordPress, follow the AI Setup & Activation sections to paste your Activation Key and test the connection.
  3. Once connected, you can manage and upgrade plans entirely inside the Lenxel Portal; those changes apply to your Lenxel Pro installation as long as the Activation Key remains active.

By choosing the appropriate path and then activating through the Lenxel Portal, you can move from any starting point (existing Lenxel theme or completely new site) to a fully configured Lenxel Pro environment without confusion.

Lenxel Lite vs Lenxel Pro

Lenxel is delivered in two versions that work together through the Lenxel Portal:

  • Lenxel Lite: Free version available in the official WordPress directory. Ideal for getting started, testing the LMS workflow, and using core AI-powered course generation.
  • Lenxel Pro: Full-featured version downloaded from https://lenxel.ai/download. Unlocks advanced LMS modules (paid courses, certificates, learner analytics, Elementor-based builders, etc.).
How the Two Versions Work Together
  • Both Lite and Pro connect to the Lenxel Portal using a single Activation Key (Secret Token).
  • AI is available in both versions once the Activation Key is configured in WordPress.
  • Advanced Pro-only features appear in the UI as locked options in Lite, with "Upgrade to Pro" prompts that direct you to the Lenxel download page.
Typical Setup Flow
  1. Install Lenxel Lite from the WordPress theme and plugin directories to bootstrap your LMS.
  2. Create a Portal Account at https://portal.lenxel.ai, verify your email, and copy your Activation Key (Secret Token). You will receive 1 free AI course generations when you sign up.
  3. Connect WordPress to the Portal by pasting the Activation Key into the Lenxel settings (see the "AI Setup & Activation" sections).
  4. Upgrade to Lenxel Pro at any time by downloading the Pro bundle from https://lenxel.ai/download and installing it on your site. Your existing Activation Key will automatically unlock Pro features according to your subscription.

This structure lets you safely explore Lenxel Lite on WordPress.org while keeping a single, centralized subscription and activation experience through the Lenxel Portal.

Setting Up Course Certificates (Only available in Lenxel Pro) Upgrade to Pro

Course certificates are a powerful way to recognize and motivate learners who successfully complete your courses. Follow these steps to enable and configure certificates for your courses:

    Course View
Step 1: Access Course and Configure Certificate Settings
    1. Log into your WordPress admin dashboard
    2. Navigate to Tutor LMS → Courses
    3. Select an Existing Course or create a New Course
    4. Look for the Certificate option on the right sidebar
    5. Click to Enable Certificate for this course
    6. Input the Course Passing Grade (minimum grade required for certificate)
    Step 2: Complete Course Content
    1. Add Lessons to your course topics to provide learning content
    2. Add Quizzes to assess student understanding and progress
    3. Configure each quiz with a specific passing grade. This score is essential, as it determines eligibility for Quiz-Level Certificates and is used to calculate the overall average for the Course-Level Certificate
    Step 3: Review and Publish
    1. Verify that all lessons, quizzes, and certificate settings are correct
    2. Click "Publish" to make the course and certificate available to students
    Course View
    Step 4: Customize Certificate Design
Certificates can be customized both globally from the Lenxel settings and individually at the course level for maximum flexibility:
    1. Access Certificate Settings:
Navigate to Lenxel Settings on your WordPress dashboard.
Click Certificate Settings to customize the template and general design.
    2. Customize the Logo:
Upload or select the desired logo image within the Certificate Setting section.
    3. Configure Signatures:

The platform utilizes a two-tier signature system to ensure all course certificates are automatically professional and valid while providing flexibility for course-specific overrides.

      1. Default Site Signature (Secondary/Global Level)

This acts as the Master Signature, ensuring that every certificate issued by the site is automatically professional and valid, eliminating the need to manually configure a signature for most standard courses.

        • Configuration: Set up the secondary signature on the global Certificate Settings page.
        • Method: Type the signatory’s name into the input field. The system will automatically generate a cursive signature image from the input text.
      2. Instructor Signature Name (Primary/Course-Level Override)

This level provides an override for specialized certifications where a Head of Department or specific Course Lead needs to be the signatory. Using this setting for a specific course will not affect the global signature on the rest of the platform.

        • Configuration: To customize the primary signature for a specific course, navigate to the Course Builder for that course, then click on the Additional section on the third step tab.
        • Fallback Logic: If this course-level signature field is left blank, the system "intelligently" falls back to using the Default Site Signature (Global).
Primary Signature (Course Level): To customize the primary signature for a specific course, navigate to the Course Builder for that course, then click on the Additional section on the third step tab.
    4. Set Text Styling:
Set the appropriate font family, font size, and text color for the certificate text.
    5. Customize "Issued By" Text:
Click on Certificate Settings to customize the general design. Within this section, you can customize the "Issued By" text.
    6. Adjust Background and Border:
Customize the certificate's visual appearance by setting the background and border options on the Certificate Settings page.
    How Certificate Grading Works

The Lenxel Pro grading system ensures that certificates are awarded only to students who meet the course requirements:

    Quiz Certificate Settings
    Quiz-Level Certificates

If a certificate is set for a quiz, the system checks whether the student's grade meets or exceeds the quiz's passing grade. If this condition is met, a certificate is issued to the student.

    Course Certificate Settings
    Course-Level Certificates

If a certificate is designated for an entire course, the system evaluates the student's performance by calculating their average score. This average is determined by summing up all the scores from the student's quiz attempts and dividing the total by the number of quiz attempts made. To determine if a student successfully completes the course and is eligible for a course certificate, the system verifies if the student's average grade is greater than or equal to the course's passing grade.

    Key Features
    • Automatic Calculation: The system automatically calculates average grades across all quiz attempts
    • Flexible Passing Criteria: Custom passing grades per course.
    • Professional Certificates: Students receive professionally designed certificates upon meeting requirements
    • Motivation Tool: Certificates encourage course completion and provide tangible recognition
How to Acquire Your Course Certificate

(Note: This feature is only available in Lenxel Pro.)

Course certificates are awarded to learners who successfully complete the course requirements. Follow these steps to earn your certificate:

Step 1: Complete All Course Lessons
    1. Access the course and thoroughly review all Lessons and content added to the course topics to ensure comprehensive understanding
Step 2: Complete All Course Quizzes
    1. Take all the Quizzes within the course to assess your understanding and progress
Step 3: Meet the Course Passing Grade

Your eligibility for a certificate depends on meeting the minimum score configured by the course creator:

    1. For Quiz-Level Certificates: You must achieve a grade that meets or exceeds the specific quiz's passing grade
    2. For Course-Level Certificates: Your average score, calculated by summing up all scores from your quiz attempts and dividing the total by the number of attempts made, must be greater than or equal to the overall course passing grade
    Certificate Settings
Step 4: Receive and Download Your Certificate

Upon successfully meeting the required passing criteria (whether quiz-level or course-level), the Lenxel Pro system automatically issues your certificate. The certificate will be made available via email and your learner dashboard, and you can download it at any time.

    Certificate Download.png
    1. For Learners: How to Receive and Access Your Certificate
      1. Certificate Notification via Email
        • Successful Completion: You will receive an email titled "Congratulations! Your Certificate for [Course Name] is Ready." This email contains a direct link to download your certificate.
        • Failed Attempt: If you do not meet the passing requirements, you will receive a failure notification email instead, which does not include a certificate link.
      2. Accessing and Downloading from the Learner Dashboard The most common way to access your certificate is directly from the course page:
        • Log in to the platform.
        • Navigate to Dashboard > Enrolled Courses.
        • Click on the completed course.
        • Click the Download Certificate button (the green button with a download icon), located on the right sidebar below the "100% Complete" progress bar.
      3. Certificate Availability
        1. Permanent Access: Your certificate is permanently available and can be downloaded multiple times. You can access it anytime via the email link, the course page.
    2. For Administrators: Managing Certificates

As an administrator, your capabilities are currently focused on viewing student eligibility and progress, rather than bulk-downloading final personalized certificates.

      1. Checking Student Eligibility and Viewing Certificates
        • To Check Eligibility: Go to Dashboard > Learners and click details to view their "Course Progress" and "Quiz Results."
      2. Downloading Certificates (Current Limitations)
        • Current Setup: Downloading certificates as an admin is not currently streamlined. It requires administrators to either log in as the student or use the direct URL method mentioned above.
        • Best Practice: The recommended approach is to guide students on how to download their own certificates. Administrators can verify the passing result but cannot easily download the file on the student's behalf.
      3. Future Management
        • Planned Enhancement: An Admin Certificate Management Panel is listed as a future enhancement. This update is expected to include the ability to view all student certificates in one place and perform bulk downloads.
        • The professional certificate provides tangible recognition of your achievement.

It examines whether the student's computed average grade aligns with or surpasses the predefined course passing threshold.
